The nation's largest Persian Silk marble mine, Bagherabad, produces marbles in blocks, slabs, and tiles in light gray and dark gray.  The combination of light gray color and white spider web woven into it like silk gives Persian silk (also known as Iranian Silk) its name.

With a reserve of 600,000 tons and an annual nominal loading capacity of 30,000 tons, this mine provides marble stone for significant international projects.

One of the marble stone types mined in Iran is the Persian Silk or Emperador Silk marble stone, which has a consistent and silky texture. This stone is distinguished by its smooth texture, light gray and white color, and lack of visible lines or cracks.

Due to its exquisite appearance, Persian Silk marble is used in opulent buildings for flooring, wall covering, external and internal facades, stairs, and landscaping.

Persian Silk marble stone's resistance is due to its finely crystallized structure. Corrosion, weathering, heat, thermal shock, wear and drying, pressure, and stiffness are all things it can withstand. Also, due to low water absorption, this stone is suitable for use in buildings that require high durability and strength. Naturally, routine upkeep and repairs are necessary to maintain its toughness and beauty. The high polishability of this stone during the processing stages is one of its benefits.
